Construction Litigation Associate Attorney - Midlevel
This prestigious AmLaw 50 national law firm is actively seeking a
midlevel Associate Attorney to enhance its Construction Law
practice group based in Chicago, IL. The position encompasses a
dynamic range of responsibilities including advocating in various
construction disputes and providing strategic legal counseling.
With a strong focus on professional growth and a holistic approach
to client service, this role not only promises competitive
compensation but also a path towards a rewarding legal career in
construction litigation and transactional work.
Compensation: $235,000.00 - $365,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation to
clients in various construction-related matters.
- Prepare and negotiate intricate construction contracts and
agreements, ensuring all documents comply with current laws and
regulations.
- Represent clients in construction disputes, including delay and
disruption claims, payment disputes, and breach of contract
claims.
- Collaborate with other team members to deliver high-quality
legal services, aiming for excellence in client
satisfaction.
- Engage in both litigation and transactional aspects of
construction law, providing a well-rounded approach to legal
problem solving.
- Execute detailed legal research and craft persuasive legal
arguments to support clients' cases.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic
record.
- Active bar admission in Illinois.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction law or related
legal fields.
- Proven track record in litigation, particularly involving
construction disputes.
- Experience in counseling, dispute resolution, contract
drafting, and negotiation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience at an AmLaw 100 firm or judicial
clerkship.
- Experience in preparing and negotiating construction contracts,
change orders, and other related agreements.
- Transactional real estate experience will be considered a
significant plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team
environment.
